ELECTROPOLISHING and PASSIVATION

Despite of unpopularity of electropolishing and passivation method in Lithuania, we have tested it on our production and seen it’s effectivness, so our company want to present BYMAT stainless steel cleaners also used for electropolishing, marking and electroplating various metals.
1. Stainless steel cleaning and polishing

The oxide film is easily removed and the undesirable tarnish disappears, there are no unsightly edge marks – and this alone has always required a further work step. The surface is simultaneously protected from corrosion (passivated). In comparison with cleaning and pickling with acids this process is significantly cheaper. The chemicals used for the process contain no hazardous substances and are not subject to the duty of marking. The grey edge marks (heat-affected zones) close to the welded seams caused by the material changes during welding can be removed without any problem. It is possible to polish stainless steel to a high gloss thus creating a uniform surface even in the case of a 3D-reflective material.

    

2. Dark marking of electrically – conductive surfaces

Marks even cylindrical components deep black, easily, rapidly and cheaply. Because of the short reaction time of an electrolyte in connection with a template made according to your own requirements, graphics, trade marks, type plates, device numbers, identification numbers, scales, texts and logos can be permanently marked. Our high-performance electrolyte is neutral (ph 7) and requires no neutralization.

3. Light marking of electrically – conductive surfaces

By means of material removal in connection with a template made according to your own requirements, we achieve a light marking effect similar to engraving. This is suitable for black steels and aluminium for examples.

    

4. Electroplating / metal plating

With this process it is possible to precipitate electrolytically every material which can be liquefied. For examples zinc-plating as corrosion protection. Furthermore the welded seams can be after treated on zinc-plated components. Possible metal coatings: Tin, Zinc, Gold, Silver, Nickel, Chrome, Cadmium, Cobalt, Copper, Brass.
